Project Title: Sensor-based soil moisture monitoring via Mobile App: Development of an AI-based intelligent system for marginal farmers (SDM)
Sponsor: IIT Kharagpur AI4ICPS I Hub Foundation (IIT Kharagpur Campus, Dist. Paschim Medinipur, Kharagpur, Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal, 721302)
Compensation: Up to Rs. 37,000 per month (depending on qualifications & experience)
Qualifications Required:
- B.Tech in Civil Engineering or related fields with a strong interest in Internet of Things (IoT), Embedded Systems, Sensor Technology, Software Engineering, Data Science, or Artificial Intelligence from a recognized university or institute. B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) or Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) or related field will also be considered.
- M.Tech / MS in Water Resources Engineering, Hydroinformatics, AI/ML applications in related fields mentioned in point #1. First class/division throughout.
- Selected through a process described through any one of the following:
- Scholars selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC, NET, including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.
- Selection process through national-level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies/Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER, etc.
Relevant Experience:
- Strong knowledge of coding and programming languages (Python, Java, C/C++, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with software development and mobile/web application development (using frameworks like React Native, Angular, Node.js, etc.).
- Experience with AI/ML tools, cloud computing, IoT.
Age Limit:
- Maximum age: 28 years
- Relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped/Visually Handicapped and female candidates

- 12 months or until the termination of the project, whichever is earlier.
