Position Summary
As an Assistant Professor in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology, you will lead an independent research program focused on areas such as autophagy, immunology, inflammation, and metabolism. You will teach medical students as part of the Phase 1 curriculum and play a key role in mentoring graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. This position also provides rich collaborative opportunities with the AIM Center and UNM-HSC’s signature programs.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct groundbreaking research and attract external funding from NIH or similar sources.
- Teach and mentor at the medical and graduate school levels.
- Participate in AIM Center activities, including contributing to ongoing research initiatives.
- Support the department’s mission through service and involvement in administrative and educational activities.
