Eligibility
To be eligible for the position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Must be an Ex-Serviceman or Ex-Agniveer from the Army, Navy, or Air Force.
- Must have a minimum educational qualification of passing the 10th standard or its equivalent, but should not have passed Graduation or its equivalent examination.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in Tamil.
- Must have an exemplary character at the time of discharge from the Armed Forces.
Age Limit
The age limit for candidates is as follows:
- General: 18 to 26 years (with relaxation for Ex-Servicemen)
- SC/ST: 31 years + actual period of defence service + 3 years (max. 45 years)
- OBC: 29 years + actual period of defence service + 3 years (max. 45 years)
- Agniveer: 21 years + actual period of service as Agniveer + 3 years

Salary
The pay scale for the Security Guard position ranges from ₹19,500 to ₹37,815, with basic pay fixation based on the last drawn salary during defence service, in accordance with the 12th Bipartite Settlement.

- Local Language Test (Tamil): Maximum marks – 20
- Physical Fitness Test: Maximum marks – 100
