Postdoctoral Scientist in Cell Biology at University of Würzburg, Germany: Are you an ambitious scientist looking to contribute to impactful research in cell biology? The University of Würzburg is offering an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Scientist to join our team as part of the European Research Council Advanced Grant Tryplaxis. This position is available for 2 years, starting from November 1, 2024. The successful candidate will explore cAMP signaling in Trypanosoma brucei, focusing on its role in tissue and organ tropism in mammalian hosts.
About the Role
Designation | Postdoctoral Scientist |
---|---|
Research Area | Cell Biology, Molecular Parasitology |
Location | University of Würzburg, Würzburg, Germany |
As a postdoctoral scientist, you will investigate how Trypanosoma brucei, a parasite responsible for trypanosomiasis in sub-Saharan Africa, senses and responds to its environment. Using CRISPR/Cas9 technology, you will generate a barcoded library of approximately one hundred gene deletions. These mutants will be evaluated through mouse infection experiments, with significant phenotypes undergoing further analysis via intravital microscopy.
