Organization Profile: National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur, earlier known as Regional Institute of Technology was established on 15th August 1960 as a joint venture of Government of India and the Government of Bihar in the chain of REC’s (Regional Engineering College) in India with the aim to generate technical graduates of highest standards who could provide technological leadership to the region. It was among the first eight Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs) established as part of the Second Five-Year Plan (1956 – 1961).
Research Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Department: Production & Industrial Engineering
Title of the project: Development of a novel and indigenous process chain for fabrication of low-cost, high-performance, super-abrasive micro-grinding tools
Essential Qualification: M. Tech/M.E/M.S in Mechanical/Production Engineering/Materials Science and Engineering/Metallurgical Engineering or equivalent with minimum 60% marks or 6.5/10 CGPA at both B.E./ B. Tech. and M.E./M. Tech levels or B.E./ B. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering/Production Engineering/Materials Science and Engineering/Metallurgical Engineering with CGPA above 8.0/10 and with a GATE score.
Project Duration: From the date of appointment, till the completion of the project on 13th March, 2026.
Fellowship: Rs. 31,000/- (+ HRA as per norms) per month (JRF) for first two years
