Foreign Faculty Positions

Qualifications and Experience
- Ph.D. with first class or equivalent in the preceding degree and an excellent academic record throughout.
- Assistant Professor: Fresh Ph.Ds with an excellent academic record are eligible.
- Associate Professor: A minimum of 6 years post-Ph.D. teaching/research experience, of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor.
- Professor: A minimum of 10 years post-Ph.D. teaching/research experience, with at least 4 years at the level of Associate Professor.
- Proven record of publications in reputed journals and conferences.
Tenure and Benefits
- Contract Basis: Appointments for Foreign Nationals are on a contract basis for up to 5 years.
- Salary: As per Government of India norms, based on experience.
- Benefits & Perks:
- Seed Grant: Up to Rs. 2 million for research initiation.

Foreign Post-Doctoral Fellows (PDF) Positions
IIT Bombay invites applications for Post Doctoral Fellow (PDF) positions across various academic units. The tenure is typically two years (initially one year, extendable for a second year based on performance). A third-year extension is possible in exceptional cases.
Salary and Contingency Grant
- Salary: Rs. 80,000/- per month plus HRA (currently 27% of consolidated salary).
- Contingency Grant: Rs. 50,000/- per annum (non-lapsable).
Eligibility & Evaluation
- Applicants may be fresh PhDs or PhDs with less than two years of experience.
- Applications are evaluated similarly to faculty selections, with Search Committees conducting seminars/interviews as needed.

Duties and Facilities
- Assigned a mentor with expertise in a related field.
