IBPS PO/MT Syllabus : The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts the Common Recruitment Process (CRP) for the recruitment of Probationary Officers (PO) and Management Trainees (MT). Phase I: Online Preliminary Examination
The Preliminary Examination is the first stage and consists of three sections:
1. English Language
– Topics include reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, sentence correction, and cloze tests.
2. Quantitative Aptitude
– This section covers number series, simplifications, ratios and proportions, percentage, profit and loss, time and work, time and distance, algebra, and data interpretation.
3. Reasoning Ability
– Key areas include verbal and non-verbal reasoning, analogies, coding-decoding, seating arrangement, puzzles, blood relations, syllogisms, and direction sense.
Phase II: Online Main Examination
The Main Examination consists of four sections, assessing a candidate’s in-depth knowledge across various subjects:
1. Reasoning & Computer Aptitude
– This includes logical reasoning, decision-making, puzzles, and computer knowledge, including basic hardware, software, and networking concepts.
2. General/Economy/Banking Awareness
– Topics cover current affairs (national and international), banking terms, financial institutions, recent developments in the banking and economic sectors, government schemes, and general knowledge about the Indian economy.
3. English Language
– Similar to the preliminary phase, this section includes reading comprehension, error spotting, sentence completion, para jumbles, and vocabulary-based questions.
4. Data Analysis & Interpretation
– This section evaluates a candidate’s ability to analyze and interpret data presented in forms like tables, graphs, charts, and case studies. Topics include averages, percentages, ratios, profit and loss, and data sufficiency.
Phase III: Interview
Candidates who qualify the Main Examination will be shortlisted for the interview process. The interview will be conducted by the participating banks, coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each state or union territory, with support from IBPS.
