It touches the lives of Indian citizens in many ways: delivering mails, accepting deposits under Small Savings Schemes, providing life insurance cover under Postal Life Insurance (PLI) and Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI) and providing retail services like bill collection, sale of forms, etc. The DoP also acts as an agent for Government of India in discharging other services for citizens such as Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) wage disbursement and old age pension payments. Candidates who wish to be considered against reserved vacancies and/or to seek age relaxation must have relevant certificates [EWS/SC/ST/OBC(Non-Creamy Layer) etc.] issued by competent/notified authority (in prescribed format) on or before the cutoff date (closing date of advertisement) otherwise their claim for any category will not be entertained and their applications will be considered against Unreserved (UR) category vacancies, if eligible otherwise. The candidate has to select that particular category when applying for the post along with valid certificates. No request for a change of category will be entertained at any later stage. The candidates who want to claim age relaxation for Government Servants need to submit a relevant certificate/ document that they have rendered a minimum of 3 years of regular service as a government employee on the cutoff date [i.e. last date of submission of application].

Eligibility Criteria for Department of Post Skilled Artisans Recruitment 2024
Age Limit :As of 01.07.2024, candidates must be between 18 to 30 years for UR/EWS categories. Age relaxation is applicable as follows: SC/ST: 5 years, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years, Government Servants: Up to 40 years (45 years for SC/ST) as per Central Government orders.
Relevant certificates, including caste and EWS certificates, must be submitted in the prescribed format for availing the age relaxation benefits under EWS/Govt. Servant/SC/ST/OBC categories.
Educational & Other Qualifications: Candidates must fulfill one of the following criteria:A certificate in the respective trade from any Technical Institution recognized by the Government. Completion of VIII Std. with one year of experience in the respective trade.
Note: Candidates applying for the post of Mechanic (Motor Vehicle) must possess a valid Driving Licence (IMV & LMV) to drive heavy and light vehicles.
Method of Selection Indian Post Skilled Artisans Recruitment 2024
Selection Process for Skilled Artisans: The selection of Skilled Artisans will be based on a Competitive Trade Test among candidates who possess the required qualifications and a valid driving licence (only for Mechanic MV). The details regarding the date, venue, and syllabus of the test will be communicated separately to the eligible candidates at their correspondence address via Hall Permit. No notification will be sent to ineligible applicants.
Application Process: Candidates must submit their applications in the prescribed format attached below. Applications that are not in the prescribed format will be rejected without further consideration.
